Plantar fasciitis

Plantar Fasciitis

Fasciitis is a common painful and at times debilitating condition that primarily affects athletes, as well as people whose jobs require them to stand for long periods of time. Other risks involve improper shoe wear and lack of the normal arch of the foot. In these cases, the band of tissue at the bottom of the foot (plantar fascia) becomes inflamed and injured. This causes pain along the sole or at the heel of the foot, which can impair the ability to walk, especially early in the morning. While simpler forms of this condition can respond to rest, anti-inflammatory medications and Physical Therapy, sometimes surgery is required. Orthobiologic injections can be a great alternative as a non-surgical option. IROSM specializes in plantar fasciitis PRP treatment

PRP and Mesenchymal Stem Cells have been an ideal treatment options for those patients that fail conservative treatment and want to avoid surgery.

THE PHENOMENON OF PLANTAR FASCIITIS

There are many factors both genetic and environmental that contribute to the disease process
known as plantar fasciitis Repetitive micro-trauma from simple activity such as walking
and standing and an inability on the part of the fascia to fully heal (due in part by poor blood supply)
causes chronic degeneration of the Plantar Fasciitis.
The fascia essentially becomes swollen and “mushy.”

DOWNFALLS OF PLANTAR FASCIA SURGERY

Plantar Fasciitis surgery is an invasive procedure. In many cases, surgeons will attempt to
fix the underlying problem by cutting the Plantar Fasciitis through an incision in the skin. Complicating factors to these
surgeries include prolonged downtime, ineffective pain relief, altered walking mechanics, and more serious risks such infection and blood clots.

IROSM’S REGENERATIVE / STEM CELL PROCEDURE FOR PLANTAR FASCIITIS

Traditionally, invasive surgery has been used to treat plantar fasciitis which commonly involves
simply cutting the plantar fascia completely. IROSM’s regenerative procedure for those with plantar fascia injury is an ultra-minimally invasive same-day injection procedure designed to alleviate pain and
improve function with an aim at fascia healing and preservation. In addition to being less invasive then
surgery, the procedure conveys less risk of complications and in many cases less downtime. Though it is
not covered by insurance carriers, out of pocket costs for this procedure are often comparable to Plantar Fasciitis surgery when considering copayments and lost productivity associated with surgery. Most importantly,
this joint preserving procedure allows you to keep your plantar fascia tissue intact.
In other words, the  Cells from your own body harness your own body’s healing capability to naturally
restore, reduce pain and get you back to doing the things you love.
